| How come you're so interested in baseball, Luna? Oh, and Rocshi hasn't been sent a link yet because he can still post in day chat. Thanks for testing by the way | |

| I don't know. I wasn't into sport massively as a kid. I enjoyed a bit of Cricket, but the only sport we really followed in our family was Formula 1 (I kinda inherited a support of West Ham from my Dad, but we only paid a little bit of attention to football). I would sometimes set the VCR to tape an NBA or MLB game, but it was just out of curiosity. I attended some Ice Hockey games in England and really enjoyed them, but I still wasn't a fervent sports enthusiast.
When I went off to University I changed quite a lot. I watched a Superbowl, and was instantly hooked on the NFL. By the end of that year I'd rediscovered my love for Hockey. In my second year of Uni I watched NCAAF and some CFL, before getting hooked on Baseball in the summer (partly thanks to my aunt, who lives in Toronto, and wanted to talk about the Blue Jays with me instead of the Maple Leafs). By the time I graduated I had jerseys and pennants lining my room.
So yeah, basically I'm a big fan of Cricket/F1/American Football/Ice Hockey/Baseball. I don't know why, I think I lost a lot of my geek cred at Uni.
Why Baseball in particular? Well it fits in well amongst Cricket and Formula 1, it's awesome to sunbathe in your back garden with internet radio coverage of the game on in the background.

| Wow, I see. Baseball has never really been a big thing here in the Netherlands. Apparently our championship players aren't bad though, because they were 2011's world champs When I was younger, I used to watch Formula 1 with my father as well. And I've watched quite a bit of tennis back in the day too, also because my parents followed that. But lately the only sports events I've been watching are big ones like the Olympics and European and world championships of football (but only when our team plays :p). And the occasional tennis match if I stumble upon it on TV. | |

| I enjoy Tennis during the Summer. As you can imagine we enjoy Wimbledon over here, I get tickets if I can. It's never really grabbed me as a 'sport' though - it's a sport I can play, and it's a sport I can watch, but it's a difficult sport to follow or support. It's a loose confederation of tournaments and we cheer for individuals, not teams. It means it's easy to jump in and watch but I've never really considered taking further interest in it. This year I'm looking for a Softball league to take part in anyway, no time to play Tennis | |

| I've been thinking about letting the dead "communicate" with one living target at night by sending them a PM that goes through me. Can't contain any useful ingame information, just something to make them go lol What do you think? | |

| The percentage of correct riddle answers seems to decrease rapidly. This one isn't that much more difficult, I thought...
You want to have a serious go at solving it? Adrenaline clearly isn't correct :p
The previous one was answered correctly by 11 players or something

| Faith? I was thinking of love, but it didn't quite work.
In all fairness, whilst Adrenaline clearly wasn't a poetic enough answer it certainly fit the riddle xD

| I was reading The Hobbit today whilst out in the Sun. I happened to read the Riddles in the Dark chapter. I had fun guessing all of those riddles again (although some are just so classic that you can never forget them). | |

| I'm really slow, though. My mind drifts off constantly. It generally takes me a long time to finish a book unless I'm really trying to finish it as quickly as possible. | |

| What the hell dude? Read it asap! I read it when I was like 6 years old, I have a leather-bound first edition which is one of my most treasured possessions. I think it's a better book than any of the ones in Lord of the Rings.
The great thing about it is that it's first and foremost an exciting action adventure book meant to be accessible to children. It has the sophistication and wit of Tolkien, whilst remaining concise and fantastical. He manages to pack a lot of character and memorable scenes into a small book because the pace is frantic. It has so many iconic moments.
For example, the book starts off in the Shire with Bilbo Baggins. By page 36 (and this is in fairly large and wide-set print, mind you) Tolkien has not only introduced all of the characters and their quest, but they've also set off on their journey and have encountered their first major confrontation.
It's a great book. Tolkien didn't feel the need to ground the book in epic folklore and morbid history to give it gravitas, it's a fun romp. More actually happens to Bilbo than Frodo, I think, it just happens really quickly and is less armageddon-ish. I can't wait to see the film this year.
Overall I think you should read it; I think you'd be able to concentrate long enough. Like I said, it's not like Lord of the Rings where they spend 100 pages in Rivendell singing songs and preparing for their journey. I think Bilbo stays with Elrond for about a week, but it goes by in a couple of pages. It's almost like the 'tl;dr' version of LoTR.

| Haha, yeah. That was a problem I had with LotR sometimes. The descriptive pieces were nicely written, but they were soooo long.
I'll certainly be reading it at some point, but I'm not sure yet if I want to read it before seeing the movie or afterwards. One always affects the enjoyment of the other. A movie is more thrilling if you don't know what's going to happen next, but when reading a book you still have that discovery feel even if you've seen the movie already. Because there's always more to it.

| I think it might be worth reading the book first - I think the movie will do it justice, there's a pedigree and precedence already set for Tolkien/Jackson adaptations. I guess you've already seen/read LoTR so you know who Bilbo is, how he takes the ring from Gollum, and who Balin is etc.
Besides, a lot of the tone of the novel comes from Tolkien narrating the story himself, which won't really be conveyed in the film. This book is actually written as if Middle Earth was actually Earth just a long time ago, and it's almost from the perspective of a historian looking back into the past narrating events. I think the film will feel a little different to the book because it's got to tie in with the LoTR movies in tone and style, whereas The Hobbit book is very different from his later works.
I think it's also worth it because the film is a long way off. You can read it now and let your imagination build up the scenes in the story. If you read it after you watch the film, you'll constantly be thinking of the film scenes in your head. I'm looking forward to seeing how the adaptation is handled, and I have no problem with the film being different from my own imagination, but I've at least had the chance to interpret it my own way before Peter Jackson even began making the LoTR movies.

| This FMX epilogue should be epic, given how long it's taking. | |
